ONTARIO

Snow Squall Warning in effect for regions surrounding Georgian Bay and Lake Huron.  Environment Canada has advised the following – “Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations possibly exceeding 30 cm by Friday night. Peak snowfall rates of 5 to 10 cm per hour. Very poor visibility in bursts of heavy snow and local blowing snow. Isolated power outages due to the expected heavy wet nature of the snow. Road closures are possible, especially over areas that receive multiple lake effect bands. Travel is expected to be extremely hazardous due to reduced visibility.”

NEW BRUNSWICK / NOVA SCOTIA / PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

Snowfall Warning in effect beginning tonight into tomorrow morning. Up to 20 cm expected.

NEWFOUNDLAND / LABRADOR

Wind Warning in effect for the island’s eastern regions with 60 km/hr winds (100 in areas prone to enhanced easterlies).  High profile vehicles will experience hazardous driving conditions and may topple easily – travel should be postponed.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

Highway 97 – Pine Pass and Yellowhead Highway – Tête Jaune Cache to the Alberta Border remain under snowfall warning with up to 25cm snow expected.  Reduced visibility due to heavy snow may result in hazardous driving conditions.

Travel should be postponed in the North Coast – inland including Stewart region due to a prolonged snowstorm adding another 25cm by tonight.
